Huey Cooper
The Huey Cooper sculpture was installed at the corner of North Acline and Main Street in the Lake City Historical District Wednesday, September 10, 2014. The sculpture was commissioned by the Lake City Community Foundation to honor a well-remembered community figure. Alex created a special feature on the sculpture that is very unique. The sculpture incorporates a slit where visitors can insert coins that contribute support for local needs. The design protects the “coin bank” from the many downpours that can be expected in South Carolina.
Lake City, South Carolina is a small city but has a large artistic presence. It is the home to ArtFields which takes place each spring. ArtFields offers the largest art prize in the southeastern United States.
